I had this calming, pristine image of the Oregon coast in my mind before I visited, and the reality didn’t disappoint. I can easily drive to the beaches in Southern California back home, but I felt like in the case here in Oregon, I had to “work for” my experience. We walked up the steep sand dunes, and I wasn’t totally sure what to expect over the hill… which made a slim peek of the Pacific Ocean while at the peak of the dune, all the more exciting! Really made me super eager to just run down from that point and into the cold, cold water. Oh, it was so windy!

How to Stop Over-Thinking

onlinecounsellingcollege:

1. Set aside a specific time to think about what is on your mind.
2. Find somewhere you can be quiet and alone, and write down what is bothering you.
3. Allow yourself 20 minutes to think about it – including identifying your feelings, trying to better understand the situation, and thinking through possible ways of dealing with things.
4. Decide to set the problem aside for now, and move on with your day.
5. Any time related thoughts enter your mind say “Stop!” and deliberately distract yourself.
6. Repeat Steps 1-3 at another set 20 minute period in the day. Do not allow yourself to ruminate inbetween these set periods of time.

“And now Klaus is apparently running off to go and save Sunny. In the books of course it is Violet, but I know that Hollywood prefers its female actresses to do very little.”
